Here is a reference for the National Institutes of Health about the benefits of Acupuncture:

Up until this point there has been hundreds of studies to show how Acupuncture benefits the human body in a physiological, biological and emotional level.

1) Acupuncture has the potential to relief of more than 43 symptoms by causing a biological and physiological response on the central nervous system.

2) The reason Acupuncture has been shown to be highly effective for pain management is because of the release of endogenous opioids which are the peptides that relief pain our body system.

3) The stimulation of Acupuncture points by inserting the acupuncture think needles can activate the hypothalamus and the pituitary gland which can result in relieving and balancing symptos such:

Acupressure uses a similar approach to acupuncture, but without the insertion of the thin acupuncture needles. The practitioner uses his or her hands and fingers by gently pressing acupuncture points on the body to help relieve specific symptoms or discomforts. In my private practice, I use both techniques as I find them to be the most effective treatment for my clients. It is rare, with the exception of younger children, that clients may prefer to get Acupressure done without the use of needles.

Is Acupuncture and Acupressure Safe?

When performed by a licensed Acupuncturist, preferably with years of experience, it is absolutely safe. There are very few side effects and they rarely occur. Some of the side effects can involve slight bruising, fear of needles, slight inflammation where the point was inserted, and very rarely a risk of punctuating of a lung (this happens once in several millions of cases). So in short, acupuncture is a very safe and effective treatment.

Acupuncture and Infertility-Fertility Treatments

Thousands of couples are now trying acupuncture to become pregnant naturally. There are multiple studies on the success rate of people that get acupuncture as part of their fertility protocol.

Acupuncture helps increase blood circulation to the ovaries causing the hormones to work in balance which significantly increases the body’s ability to bear a child.

Treatments are non-invasive and they are usually coupled with herbs, supplements, diet, and yoga. In my private practice, I have successfully helped many women become pregnant. Whether they have chosen to have Western and Eastern treatments or just try the Eastern approach, acupuncture always increases the chances.

Because every body is unique — even two women who have been diagnosed with the same pathology such as endometriosis — I personally give a thoroughly Eastern diagnosis for each of my clients, to find out the root of what is causing the infertility in the first place.

The length of the treatment varies depending on each person. As a general rule, I tell my clients three to six months of continuous treatment before seeing results. Some people may take longer and some may get pregnant in one month. Also when it comes to fertility, I can’t emphasize the importance of looking closely at their diet and avoiding foods that may be decreasing the chances of fertility, as well as incorporating some important herbs and supplements that aim to quicken the process and avoid miscarriage. On that note, to avoid miscarriage, it is important that my clients continue weekly or monthly treatments as well as the prescribed herbs, supplements and diet.

Looking forward to being a part of this wonderful, amazing journey of becoming pregnant,
